The civic authority has sought that arrears should be deducted from the next financial budget, sources informed.
Summery is in final stages and it would be presented to finance division after approval of CDA chairman.
The major official department defaulted for the last two years included, Water and Power Development Authority, Rs 100 million, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), Rs 50 million, Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV), Rs 30 million, Radio Pakistan, Rs 6 million and Shifa International Hospital, Rs 11 million.
They (defaulters) have been served notices repeatedly during the past two years but of useless, sources said adding rather than clearing their arrears, these departments knocked the door of court.
Wapda has also filed an application with the Lahore High Court (LHC) Pindi bench against the CDA to charge property and water taxes according to institutional rates instead of commercial tariff.
The LHC however has rejected the Wapda's petition, sources added. Later the Supreme Court has also upheld the LHC decision.
Similarly, Shifa International Hospital has also been in litigation asserting to charge the taxes as per normal rates.
The Directorate has set Rs 500 million revenue collection target for year 2004-05, of which Rs 356 million received so far, an official said.
Talking to this scribe, he said that CDA has made at least 70 percent recovery in heads of property tax and water charges.
The official however revealed that Revenue Directorate has appointed about four revenue inspectors for conducting house to house survey in G and F series sector to assess the actual covered area of each house aiming at to revise property taxes according to measurement.
However he said that Building Control Section (BCS) and CDA Planing Wing do not co-operating with the Revenue Directorate in this regard.
The Directorate also made it clear that last date for clearing outstanding dues would not be extended again beyond the February 28, 2004.
CDA has earlier set December 31 and January 31 as deadline to recover arrears from residential and commercial defaulters.
In addition, the Directorate has clarified that there is no plan underway to enhance property tax or water charges from the next fiscal as CDA had already increased the utility charges 300 percent three years back.
